I made this work last year in art. we took photos of ourselves with the most vulgar facial expressions only using head to shoulder length and using arms. then drew sketches of our photos. and from those sketches we created our sculptures. we then drew our sculptures in our diary and described it.

what i wrote in describing the work:
"I intended to create a mood that represented something that of depressed, lonely, lost and confused. There are many lines on the face to create the emotions. The mouth when being hollowed ( so that it can go in the firing kiln) dropped and made a hole. This creates a sort of horror feeling. The hands are supporting the face and it makes him feel like the he does not know what to do. Glazing was something hard to achieve. I tried to create an old, dirty artifact look and with dark splot and dripping marks to create the depressed feeling. It took some time before achieving the effect."
