MODEL INTERVIEW : BERTHOLD ROTHAS

This is 22 year old model German model, Berthold Rothas ( Check out his own site/blog here). He was born in Romania but grew up in Germany where his home town Kirchheim unter Teck is. He spent a year in Vienna where he took acting classes, describing it as " One of the best decisions I've ever made." It was during his time in acting school that he was signed by BODY&SOUL ( his mother agency). Just last summer while on a road trip in the USA, he was signed up with an agency in New York, he did his first NYFW.

He was walked in many shows including Damir Doma, Ann Demeulemeester, Givenchy, John Varvatos, Yohji Yamamoto, Y-3, Diesel Black Gold, Zero Maria Cornejo, Mik Cire, Junya Watanabe, Marithe and Francois Girbaud, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac just to name a few.

When I first saw his look from Jak&Jil Blog's photos months and months ago, he stood out to me as unique. Some guys with long hair can look rather weird, and some can look rather too feminine, however I find that he has perfectly pulled off a masculine look. I like and really support the rising trend of androgyny, an alternative taking its way in fashion. I think its going to be really taking over soon ( if not already ).

You might not see by the images here, but to me, he seems a little hippie-like haha (hope that's not offensive Berthold), because he is always wearing a bandanna headband. You would get what I mean if you searched him up on google and look at the images on various sites.

It was just funny reading the responses to the interview I did with him. I mean it's not a " I am laughing out loud" but more of like a "this guy seems kinda quirky." To me, I quite like how it's just easy, fun and carefree. It's what my blog is about.

He also kindly made a video in which you should definitely watch! It's only a few seconds, (it won't waste bandwidth to those restricted internet users like me). It sure defines his personality. He even spelt BOY MOMENTS - BOI MOMENTS haha - a little quirky ( or maybe he couldn't find a O or Y haha). When I watched the video with the music, angelic, etc it seemed like he was Jesus haha.

PETAR PETROV SS11 : Q&A

(Due to my busyness of study and all this little interview I had done with Petar Petrov has only now finally been put up on my blog. I am so sorry this has happened haha. I feel this is out of date. But all in all still the same season at least!)

In the AW 10 collection, Petrov had limited the colour pallete to mostly black and white, which is perfectly normal that he has chosen some nice earthy colours in his SS 11 collection. What I love about the collection is the clean and simple colours. The light and the dark blues and light creams compliment each other well with the maroon which I personally love. I quite like the fact that the neckline is closed gives the simplicity to it. The collection feels like you can wear this comfortably on the beach and strolling in the streets with the breeze blowing.

The fact that the models are smiling which was intended by Petrov really shows the comfort the clothes will give the wearers who would buy them.

    Q&A

What was your inspiration for this season's collection?
"I woke up this morning and the sun was shining. I woke up this morning and I went back to bed! I know this world is gonna spin whether I get up or I sleep in … Yeah!"

How do you feel about it?
    Good, HAPPY:)

    Was there a particular silhouette?
The silhouettes have a bit more volume on certain places, like pants, or t-shirts; the pants are not too narrow, and the necklines are closed

Is there anything different from previous seasons?
Yes i think so, more new textile developments more colours... also some kind of new colour language...

I noticed all the models smiling down the runway, why did you choose for them to smile?
I think that people think about fashion too seriously, but it's only fashion...

ORRI HENRISSON S/S 11 CAMPAIGN BY MATT JORDAN

Just received these campaign images from the new collection of Orri Henrisson shot by Matt Jordan. We all know his blogs - Imelda, The Style Tyrant. The model is Ashley McConnell and the shoot is styled by James Dykes.
I quite like these colour overlapping and the shapes and I think makes it interesting, complimenting with the different cuts of the garments.

CHRISTOPHER KANE MENSWEAR

Okay. O M G - I LOVE THIS! I am a lover of Christopher Kane's prints and I have been longing to hope that he came out with a menswear range and here it is! I just love love love it. The whole black leather shorts and the prints. I also think Callum Wilson (the model) just works so well with it too! He's I think 17? Another model that I like. I was going to do a little post on him awhile ago but I kind of got carried away with other stuff and had no time.

" After the t-shirt line huge success, amongst both women and men worldwide, Christopher Kane launches a full menswear capsule collection

Leather tuxedos, biker jackets, shorts and silk cashmere digital printed sweaters are just some of Spring Summer's most wanted items.

Christopher Kane quoted about the menswear launch: "I decided to launch menswear so I could wear my own designs, my friends were forever asking me to do t-shirts off the back of the womenswear show themes, so my first shot at it was with the monkey tees; they were so popular I decided to keep it going. So each season we sell men's tees alongside the mainline collection.

I find it difficult to find staples that I love, so I guess I am launching this so I can have a decent wardrobe!

The inspirations differ every time, but usually taking the lead from the womenswear. This collection is more than just t-shirts, I am offering cashmere styles, with some leather pieces. The mood for this collection was based on a film I had made for the Swarovski Fashion Rocks presentation. It's based on natural star constellations; they are so beautiful I couldn't resist using them."

Men's buyers and male private clients of the house were finally relieved not to wait any longer for a full Christopher Kane wardrobe as women already enjoy since few years. " - Vogue Italia
