GIDEON SHOES BONDI BEACH STORE LAUNCH

With the busy exams, I finally found some time to blog! So last Wednesday, 100% handmade in Australia - Gideon Shoes kicked open their Bondi Beach Store, their second store in Sydney (first launch here).

The store was quite tight in space with full house of guests, but it was more the fun, and better than the cold night it was at Bondi Beach. There were DJ Nick Vanshe, Miss Connie and Daimon Downey to keep the music pumping while founders Rupert and Matt Noffs ( wearing King Dork) were attending to all the guests. On the night guests also had the opportunity to create their own custom Gideon t-shirt, which was great, so everyone could take home a little souvenir. Unfortunately, as I had an exam the next day, I had to leave early and didn't get a chance to make one.

The eye popping store will be a creative outlet for customers to have the opportunity to design their own shoes from a range of premium denims and linen. The store will not only feature it's full range of shoes, but also First Born, Asuza (one of my favourite labels) and sweatshop free tees designed by Brett Chan. They're store isn't just a store for clothes and shoes, but also you will find a range of high art classic films, books and CD's from Fellini to Helmet Lang. When you first enter the store, you are greeted with an ironic "Sorry, We're Open" and at first the store seems like it's only shoes and laces, but as you walk in, there is a hidden space as you go towards the back of the store, where it sells the apparel.

The store is fun and also fillled with big corn, ice cream cone and cake seats. If you haven't been to the store, kick in to their store located at 124a Corner of Roscoe & Gould St and meet creative director Rupert Noffs who will be working there. But not for long, as he will be heading to New York next week and will be preparing their launch in New York!! I will missing him but it will be so exciting!
